An interesting 500cc lambretta ! . . maybe this is what the new 2012 lambretta should look like !

I found this picture while going through some old scooter rally photos.

The scooter event was at matlock in derby england , me and my son and just parked up the px125 and was removing our lids  when suddenly my ears were conditioned to the sound of twin allspeed exhausts ,before eyeing the scoot i thought rd350lc or maybe suzuki x7......... WRONG  its a lammy !

The chap going by the name of paul was explaning how it all came about,
simple really he said , i had a old lammy scooter one end of the shed and a tl500 engine sat on the work bench the other end of the shed!
He said "they just went  together perfectly ...like just two old friends!

The time it must of took to create this master piece .....engineering brilliance!

thanks for looking

A dig through some old pictures! . . VESPA PX VFR750F

Hi to all,
just thought i would share  a couple of photo's of my past machine's

This was my vfr750f a lovelly gear driven cam state of the art HONDA-:
This picture was taken in my garden on it's 21st birthday..................
yes its a 1989........photo taken in 2010.........Honda do seem to be built to last.
It was a most enjoyable...usable...well engineered machine...and yes  i miss it a little!

Next up my last scooter was a ........VESPA ..px125 in a wonderful cream colour.......again i miss it!

You cant move on to other things and keep a hold of everything ....i know my gts is the right scooter for me, but this was such an amazing scooter in A1 condition ...totally original apart from the left handed sports exhaust....chrome headlight peak and mud flaps!
what a top scoot!

I think all this rubble means no caravans allowed on the farmers field! . . I DONT THINK THIS LAND OWNER WOULD EVEN WELCOME THE GYPSY CELEBRITY PADDY DOHERTY

These are the great length's farmers and land owners feel they need to go to.......all in the name of keeping out unwanted guests,This land owner may of had trouble in the past with travellers setting up home here.   As i ride further down this country lane i discover a second gateway blocked off-:

I feel its a shame that these measures are necessary.....and all to keep someone off YOUR OWN property .
The area of the east midlands of which i live is actually very nice, there are plenty of fast moving duel carriage ways and motorways, these type of roads will get you where you need to go  fast, but there are also many country lanes .........its these lanes i enjoy exploring, there is so many small villages and towns around me that i sometimes wonder if i will ever see them all,i seem to be discovering new places all the time . when i set of on a mini adventure i  hardly ever have a (A to B) journey plan....i  simply add fuel and head off to wherever the vespa takes me.......this is top fun!

The road less travelled.....................who knows where it will lead .......i will post it when i get there!
P.s i am getting on with the vespa wonderfully ,it's up to all the tasks that i give it .....there really seems to be nothing i cant do with it , Small narrow dirt tracks to motorway work it does the lot perfectly.......another 50 enjoyable miles added!....Great stuff.........If you found this post interesting or useful in anyway please donate any amount you see fit.

I ride alone....but this time i had company..my oldest boy liam

This photo was taken on the way back from a scooter run to biker only land matlock , i say biker only land because all the big biker boys and girls meet there every sunday around lunch time onwards.i was once one of these big biker boys......honda vfr750f  was my ride. The scooter run is called beat the bikers hence we needed to be there before them, stay awhile have fish and chips or a breakfast then move on so the big boys can park there bikes up,  space for parking is limited!

the boy in the photo is my oldest son liam, with his hands in the air he's happy to have escaped the big bikers on our little big vespa. We made a stop here for fuel but it seems the garage as been closed for some time.....on one of the pumps it say 4star priced at 58pence a litre, its now around £1.30 and rising daily!

With one last stop off to call home.......i think he was ready for his tea.
The brand new vespa sits nicely next to this old red phone box (the last one to be produced was 1968) .

We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the time together,in a car this trip would have been very boring and theres no way we would have stopped to take any pictures...the world through a car windowscreen looks very different to the world aboard  a vespa ...........................yes its much nicer by vespa!

my ride ......little big vespa GTS 2011

Hi to all two wheeler people and everyone else who wishes to take the time to read this blog for that matter. This bloggin stuffs brand new to me....... i am a big big fan of steve williams and always enjoy reading scooter in  the sticks..............i believe following his fantastic blog as brought me to share my vespa rides with you all.

first off this is my ride a vespa gts300ie

After riding motorbikes for the last twenty odd years...... i've finally settled on this wonderful little big scooter.
I brought this vespa brand new from smalley cross (scoot shop in derbyshire uk),my last scoot was a vespa px125 and i was very unsure about going down the 4stroke auto route but so very glad i did.
I've done about 1500kms on the scoot up to now and i am really enjoying every moment on it, the power delivery is so very strong and smooth and the fuel usage is very low.

I will continue to try to post future scootering adventures has often as my spare time will allow.
